Our goal is to give feedback on taste, texture and in some cases possible health benefits on each honey rating. This will allow you to make your own choice based on some objective data. We try to review at least one honey each week which we have personally tasted or in some cases used topically to help you gain perspective as you shop for honey or look for a new favorite.

I recently bought a jar of Mountain Ridge Pure Raw Honey at my local grocer. I know those of you who have read any of my blog posts will no doubt have just gasped in shock and disbelief! Well in my defense I had run out of my last jar of honey and I had an itch and it was available. When I informed the kind people over at Lifemel Honey that their product would be the subject of my next best honey review, they were gracious enough to send me a sample. When I received my small jar, the first thing I noticed was the packaging. I was surprised because its fairly plain. I guess that’s not really unusual and I’m not really sure what I was expecting, but these folks have some pretty high expectations for the honey they produce so I didn’t think it was unreasonable for me to expect flashing lights, fireworks or at least a puff of smoke when I opened the box.
