Honey Books are Sweet Reads!

Over the years I’ve come across some great resources written about honey.  If you’re looking to educate yourself on honey or you would like to incorporate honey into your baking or cooking or you are curious about bee culture this is the place to start!

These books cover a broad range of topics and are written from a variety of perspectives.  Often the author, is them self a beekeeper or a farmer who is extolling the virtues of beekeeping and bee products.

In some cases the book is written by someone outside the honey industry such as a housewife or nutritionist who has personally experienced the benefits of honey and honey products on their health or their cooking.

Regardless of the author’s background, I believe any honey book should be judged on its own merits and carefully evaluated for its scientific backing and/or “real world” trials.  The “proof” as they say is in the pudding.  A good author has carefully researched their topic and can arguably be considered an expert on the subject they choose to write about.

How These Books Were Chosen:

how to read a honey bookI came across a book called  “How to Read a Book” shortly after I graduated college.  This book changed the way I choose books and the way I read the books I’ve chosen.  I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who is serious about reading and wants to learn from it in the most efficient, intelligent manner. I have used the techniques described in this book to evaluate the books I’m recommending below.  In addition, I’ve got much time invested in the study and arts of beekeeping and honey.
