Lifemel Honey – Is It Cancer Honey?

Immune System HoneyWhen I informed the kind people over at Lifemel Honey that their product would be the subject of my next best honey review, they were gracious enough to send me a sample.  When I received my small jar, the first thing I noticed was the packaging.  I was surprised because its fairly plain.  I guess that’s not really unusual and I’m not really sure what I was expecting, but these folks have some pretty high expectations for the honey they produce so I didn’t think it was unreasonable for me to expect flashing lights, fireworks or at least a puff of smoke when I opened the box.

OK so I’m being slightly dramatic.    My point is that this is pretty neat stuff and in my opinion they really don’t need any special effects or any other “black hat” marketing techniques to sell this amazing product.  In fact, any marketing hype would probably do this honey and the health benefits it presents to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment as well as people with weakened immune systems an extreme disservice.

Lifemel Honey Review:

Taste – I must say that I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the jar and took in my first sniff of Lifemel Honey.  You see, Lifemel fortifies the honey with a special, proprietary blend of minerals, herbs and other supplements so I was prepared for a rather medicinal taste.  When I took my first taste of the honey I was shocked because not only does it not taste medicinal, but it is quite sweet!  The sweet flavor lingered in my mouth with no distinct aftertaste.  The overall flavor pallet was quite pleasant.

Rating: ★★★★☆

Texture – The sample that I tested for this review was slightly crystallized.  For me, this is actually a good thing because it indicates that the honey has not been overly processed and has been left in a state fairly close to what nature intended.  However, I reviewed the Lifemel website and did not find any indication that they take any care not to heat the honey and it had obviously been strained as it was devoid of any pollen, propolis, etc found in authentically raw honey.  I prefer raw honey but straining the honey is not as much of an issue as overheating it.

Rating: ★★★½☆

Possible Health Benefit – Well I’m on day 2 of my experience with Lifemel Honey so its a bit early to say if “feel” different.  I hope to do a more scientific study by tracking my white blood cell count at a later date.  For now, allow me to defer to the many, happy Lifemel customers and the body of scientific data the company has amassed in their quest to help cancer patients and people with poor immune systems.  Their testimonials can tell the facts much better than I ever could.

Rating: ★★★★½

Overall – If honey can be compared to wine, I would compare Lifemel honey to an aged brandy meant to be savored and sipped.  The people at Lifemel recommend using a straw to sip the honey but in my experience honey and straws don’t mix!  My overall impression is that irrespective of the health benefits this is a really good tasting honey.  When you factor in the huge, potential benefit to your health then this honey becomes a stellar choice.

Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
